System Health Strengthening – Routine Enhanced Monitoring System (REMS) – Zambia
Partnered with Zambian Ministry of Health to perform digital data collection, functional design and application/software development. Routine Enhanced Monitoring System (REMS) uses existing budget, expenditure, and health output data to produce routine estimates of expenditure per unit of service at the individual health facility, district, county, provincial and national level. This information can then be combined with existing health management information to detect outliers, guide resource allocation decisions, and identify best practices to promote knowledge share across facilities. The REMS project also provided recent college graduates an opportunity to join the GLP analyst program and learn qualitative/quantitative data collection methods, financial modelling techniques, project management, data governance and quality control measures in an enabling environment that encourages risk taking, leadership and professional development.
USAID Funded Project – Zambia Prevention Initiative (Zambia)
The Job Readiness Training (JRT) program was a six (6) month project reducing risk and vulnerability among Zambian youth and also facilitating an effective transition from school into the workplace. This program was designed with the intention of increasing the employability of Zambian youth through skills training and internships with public and private sector companies where the youth unemployment rate is five times more than that of adults and highest (15.3%) among 20-24 year olds (ZIPAR).
